Drawing and painting are my life-long passion. I obtained my BA degree in Art from University of California, Davis, and studied with nationally-known artists at the time such as Wayne Thiebaud and Roy DeForest. Though known mainly for watercolor I've continued my studies in many media with fine artists along the way who nurtured love for painting and for the natural world that inspires it.

I favor free-flowing still life and landscapes, but each genre presents its own challenges, struggles, and joys. An artist's work evolves over time with the desire to create and express. My creation in paint or ceramic can take the form of the less representational to the frankly abstract allowing flow of color and abstracted elements with expressive exaggeration to communicate the "why." I like an element of mystery.

As an artist I am an explorer and in 2016 I began to study the art of ceramics. An exciting new universe of possibilities! At the ACAI Gallery in April-May 2018 I will be showing my new ceramic wall tiles as well as recent paintings. To see details of shows please go to my "Events" page or contact me at

Many public and private collections include my art such as the California Department of Aging and Kaiser Health System. My work has been featured in various venues : KVIE-PBS television auctions, galleries, newspapers, and magazines, I have shown paintings in solo and group shows at several northern California galleries including the Art Foundry Gallery, Sacramento, Elk Grove Fine Arts Gallery, as well as the Governor's Office at the Capitol Building, Sacramento, and Crocker Art Museum's "Big Names, Small Art." A complete curriculum vitae is available by emailing me at

I am also a member of the 8-member Sacramento-based artists' group," Kritikos ", which marked its seventeeth anniversary as a painters' group in 2017. We do frequent group shows in addition to each member's own solo shows and projects.
